First big girl bath!

Just waking up

Isabella wakes up everyday about 6am, and it takes her about 30 minutes to wake up before she is ready to eat (which gives me enough time to drink about 2 cups of coffee - I'm not a morning person). So during this half hour she watches Praise Baby, she loves this dvd series. For those of you who haven't heard of it you can purchase them at any christian bookstore, it shows real life images, words, numbers, etc while playing christian music in the background. Great dvd's I highly recommend them!

Isabella's Baptism Luncheon

Isabella's infant baptism was today Sunday, June 14th. It was such a special day and the service was beautiful. Isabella was a perfect angel during the service and the ceremony and even entertained the congregation by sticking her little fingers up our pastors nose. After the service we had our friends and family over for lots of good food that my mom made for everyone. Isabella was exausted! My friend Jana was able to take some pictures during the baptism ceremony and I will post those after she e-mails them to me.

A Beautiful E-mail

My friend Laura sent me an e-mail today in reference to Isabella's upcoming infant baptism on Sunday. It was so sweet and thoughtful that it brought me to tears and I just wanted to share it with everyone:

"I wanted to do something special for her for that day,
so I went to the Christian Bookstore and bought a teeny tiny
(baby sized - smaller than your thumb nail) gold cross pin in
hopes that she could wear it on her gown when she is Baptized.
If you don't want her to, you can hide it anywhere in the dress,
I don't care. But anyway, I wanted to have itblessed, so I
called our team chaplain, Chette Williams (who married Jana
and John) to see if he would mind. I left him a message. He
called me back and said he had already left the building and
was about to go on vacation, but he decided to turn around and
come back when he heard my request. He made a special trip to
my office. When he got here, we sat down and he asked for
Isabella's full name. Then he took the cross and put it in
my hand, then he closed my hand around it, then he put his
hands around mine and we closed our eyes and he said the
most beautiful prayer calling Isabella by name, for about
2 minutes. I almost started crying! Anyway, he blessed this
cross with the most beautiful blessing of prayer especially
for her, and I would love and be honored to know
that she was wearing it somewhere."

Isn't it so wonderful to have amazing friends, and above that amazing friends who love your children like they were their own! I am so thankful everyday for my wonderful friends.

Big Girl Car Seat

At Isabella's 6 month well check-up her pediatrician recommend that we go ahead and move her into a bigger car seat (because of her length). So goodbye heavy infant seat! We tested it out and made sure to fit the straps to her size in her bedroom, and then after about an hour this morning I finally figured out how to install the seat in the car. She loves it, it is much more comfortable and she is able to see more in the car. This seat is a convertible, so when she reaches a year old we can just turn it to front facing and we won't have to worry about buying another one. She is growing way to fast!

Wild Animal Safari

Today me, Jay, Curt and Isabella went to the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain Georgia. It is this really neat animal park about 45 minutes from Auburn, it is a drive thru zoo type park. They have all kinds of animals there and the park gives you food to feed them, so all the animals are really friendly. They come up to your car and try and stick their heads in for food. Isabella loved looking at all the animals and she was not scared at all, she kept trying to touch them but Jay kept the window up when the big ones were close. Her favorite were the pigs and fallow deer! We had such a great time and I enjoyed spending time with Curt too!
